For EU, EEA and Swiss citizens

Paying the State fee: Modelo 790, código 012

You pay the State fee for a NIE, TIE or green certificate with one form, the Modelo 790, código 012: fill it in on the police website, tick the box of your procedure, settle it online or at a bank ahead of the appointment, and bring the receipt. The form shows the amount. The State sets it and changes it, so we do not quote it here.

One form, several boxes

The 790-012 lists the police procedures for foreigners one under another: the NIE certificate, the registration certificate for EU citizens, the issue of a TIE card, and others. You tick the one that matches the appointment you booked. A fee paid under another box does not match your procedure, and you may be asked to pay again.

Filling it in

The simplest way is online, on the Policía Nacional’s e-office, where you complete the form and print it. You enter your name, your NIE if you already have one or else your passport number, your address and the procedure. Every printed form carries its own reference number, so each person needs a form of their own.

Where and how to pay

  • Online, with the payment option the form offers
  • Or in person at a bank that accepts State fees, with the printed form
  • Always before the appointment: the counter expects it already paid

The proof

Bring the form stamped by the bank, or the receipt of the online payment, with your other papers. Keep a photo of both on your phone as well, in case a sheet goes missing on the way.

Questions

What does the 790-012 cost?

Whatever the form shows when you fill it in: the State sets the amount and changes it, so we do not quote it.

Do Europeans pay it too?

Yes. The registration certificate for EU citizens has its own box on the 790-012.

Is this the same as paying for your help?

No. The 790-012 goes to the State. Any help you ask us for is separate, and we agree it with you in writing first.

My fingerprints are in Maspalomas. Is the form different there?

No. It is the same national form wherever you go on the island; only the box depends on the procedure.
