Cita previa NIE Las Palmas: booking the right appointment
You book a cita previa NIE in Las Palmas for free, on the State’s official website: choose the province of Las Palmas, then the trámite (procedure) named on your EX form, and last an office on Gran Canaria with a free time. The website is the easy part. Those three choices are where bookings go wrong.

Where you book
Appointments are made through the cita previa service on sede.administracionespublicas.gob.es, the online office of the Spanish administration. The first screen asks for a province. Gran Canaria belongs to the province of Las Palmas, which also covers Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, so offices on those islands can appear in the same list.
After the province you choose the trámite (the procedure), type in your passport or NIE number, and choose among the offices and times shown.
Choose the procedure before the office
On this island the procedure decides the office, not the other way round. A bare NIE, an EU green certificate and TIE fingerprints are three separate trámites, and they sit at different addresses. Officers deal with the trámite you booked; if it is not the one you need, even a complete folder will not save the visit.
- NIE only, form EX-15: Luis Doreste Silva 68, Maspalomas or Santa Lucía de Tirajana
- Green certificate for EU citizens, form EX-18: Plaza de la Feria 24, or Santa Lucía de Tirajana for the south-east
- Fingerprints for the TIE, form EX-17: Plaza de la Feria 24, Maspalomas or Santa Lucía de Tirajana

Check every line of the confirmation
Once the booking goes through, you receive a confirmation with a reference code, the office, its address, the date and the time. Keep it on your phone or print it: you will be asked for it at the entrance.
Read it slowly before you close the page. Is the office on Gran Canaria? Does it handle your procedure? Does the time leave you room to get there from Gáldar, Agüimes or wherever you live? If something is wrong, cancel with the reference code and book again rather than hoping for the best.
When the screen says there is nothing
Often the system answers that no appointments are available. That message describes one moment, not the whole calendar: new dates are released from time to time. Checking again and again is tedious, and it is one of the tasks we take on for you.
Questions
Does the appointment cost anything?
No. Booking on the official website is free. The State fee for your procedure is a separate payment, made with the Modelo 790, código 012.
Can I just turn up without a booking?
Not as a rule: plan on an appointment for every foreigners’ procedure. No opening hours are published for the island’s police offices, so the confirmation gives you your time.
Can a friend book for me?
Yes, a friend can do the searching, but the booking is made in your name, with your passport or NIE details, and you are the person who attends.
I booked an office on Lanzarote by mistake. What now?
Cancel that appointment with the code on your confirmation, then book again and choose an office on Gran Canaria.
